The Guilty Ones

Waking up early today while going some orchestration. I decided to pop up the tracks of Spring Awakening. Its a Broadway act. Music is just very simple in this production. It is all about how the emotions are being put out on stage. I love all the tracks on this show. Ok, I should be frank on this. This is not really one musical I would reckon to everyone due to its frank portrayal of abortion, homosexuality, rape, child abuse and suicide. Set in late-19th century Germany, the musical tells the story of teenagers discovering the inner and outer tumult of sexuality.Sounded cool isn't it? But it is kinda a dark side of what the world really is. In the musical, alternative rock is employed as part of the folk-infused rock score.

This is one of the most beautiful pieces of musical theatre (Spring Awakening) ever written. this particular song is about the aftermath of how the two main characters had sex, and their feelings upon it. They felt the passion of each others bodies, and felt love, and passion, and they are almost in shock to what happened still. They say their bodies are the guilty ones because they themselves do not feel guilty. But their bodies are the only things that have any form of change on them. No one can understand the way they feel about each other, and no one should contest them.

I guess why I wanna share this out cuz in the world of homosexuality, this thing kinda happen quite frequent. Somehow there is no right or wrong to this. But simply I have been reading a few great bloggers that blogs about what they are and who they wanna be. They are simply proud of who they are and wanting to lead a normal life like everyone out there. Somehow it does show the light of it to me. They inspire me, they keep my faith going. They are somehow feeling the same that what I always dreamed of. Besides all my history in the past. I may not be as honorable as they are. But it is never too late to make that change if we wanted to. I knew that my first steps are going well so far.

Sometimes, we have to understand that life could be in anyway beautiful as we want it to be. But how to start living in it. That is an answer we have to find out ourselves. Within every single soul, no matter how much they wanna deny that, it is just a matter of fact that we would wanna accept the truth or running away from it. Many may think what kinda truth? But those questions lies within us. We owe that answer to ourselves.

I guess I should just leave it here. If you guys wanna know more about this musical, simply google it and you will know more about it. To me, this award winning musical is simply brutal honesty and amazing. It is really one great production. Here are the lyrics below.

Something’s started crazy
Sweet and unknown

Something you keep
In a box on the street
Now it’s longing for a home
And who can say what dreams are?

Wake me in time to be lonely and sad
And who can say what we are?

This is the season for dreaming
And now our bodies are the guilty ones
Who touch
And color the hours

Night won’t breathe
Oh, how we
Fall into silence from the sky
And whisper some silver reply

Pulse is gone and racing
All fits and starts

Window by window
You try and look into
This brave new you that you are
And who can say what dreams are?

Wake me in time to be out in the cold
And who can say what we are?
This is the reason for dreaming

And now our bodies are the guilty ones
Our touch
Will fill every hour

Huge and dark
Oh, our hearts
Will murmur the blues from on high
Then whisper some silver reply

And now our bodies are the guilty ones
Our touch
Will color the hours

Night won’t breathe
Oh, how we
Fall in silence from the sky

Then whisper some silver reply
And now our bodies are the guilty ones

  1. Its never to late for anything. Plus never loose faith in what you wish to achieve, in the end, you'll get it. :)

  3. Sometimes when we know that it's wrong, we still do it.

    I wonder why.

  4. Chen Xing, we are still human. Sometimes the easiest way for us to learn is from the hard way. Agree??
