Kelly Clarkson Performs New Single 'Tie It Up' After Beating One Direction, Taylor Swift, More In 'Best Popstar' Poll

It is not known if the star's new country track is part of a new album or just a one-off release, but the single artwork - released yesterday - shows the engaged singer in a wedding dress and tied to a male companion.

She wrote on Twitter after her set: "THANK YOU #CMAFest!!! I had so much fun tonight! I sang with Trisha Yearwood!!! What an amazing night! Thanks for singing with me!"

Kelly was voted the best popstar on Earth right now earlier this month in AMAZEPOP's poll, which was decided by 8,700 pop fans. She beat Pink, who finished second, Taylor Swift, who came third, and Demi Lovato, who finished fourth.

The Top 10 was rounded off by Adam Lambert, Adele, Beyonce, Britney Spears, Ed Sheeran and Adam Levine in that order, while Rihanna came 12th. All five members of One Direction made the list, with Zayn Malik the highest at No18 and Liam Payne the lowest at No28.

Justin Bieber finished at a disappointing No39, two places ahead of Miley Cyrus and four places in front of ex-girlriend Selena Gomez.

Kelly Clarskon was the headlining act during Day 3 of the 2013 CMA Music Festival. During her 30-minute set, at a packed LP Field stadium in Nashville, Tennessee, the original American Idol treated fans out there with the debut live performance of her brand new country single, "Tie It Up" on June 8. Kelly had announced the song earlier on Saturday on Twitter; "Can't wait to perform my next country single tonight at #CMAfest! #TieItUp WHO'S READY?! http://say.ly/hSd604n", posting too a link directing to the single's official artwork, in which she's dressed as a bride bound to her groom.

Kelly - looking red hot - performing "Tie It Up". It's a country song, but it's definitely has a rock-y edge. In the lyrics, Ms Clarkson talks about the 'something borrowed and something blue'. Other songs she performed during her 2013 CMA Music Festival show were; "Because of You", "Don't Rush", and brought on stage country stars, Trisha Yearwood, and Jason Aldean to sing; "Ain't Going Down", and "Don't You Wanna Stay", respectively. Kelly simply slays live! Enjoy.
