Dreamliner Flying to Sydney in December!

"The Dreamliner is a revolutionary new aircraft that will change aviation globally," Sydney Airport Chief Executive Officer Kerrie Mather said.

"Its lower fuel consumption, running costs and noise profile changes the whole economics of air travel.

"Like the Airbus A380, which has revived the excitement and romance of air travel, Boeing 787 cabins are designed to provide a more comfortable, quieter passenger experience, with a higher cabin pressure and humidity than older models of aircraft and larger passenger windows.

"The great news for travellers is that the economics of aircraft like the Boeing 787 will enhance Sydney's connectivity by opening up new non-stop routes, particularly in our target markets in south-east Asia, India and China.

"Sydney Airport is already a major hub for next generation aircraft. With more than 120 services a week scheduled to fly here by the end of the year, we are the world's sixth busiest Airbus A380 airport.

"A number of our major carriers have the Boeing 787 on order and we are expecting significant numbers of Dreamliners to operate here over the next 12-18 months.

"New generation aircraft are helping Sydney Airport to continue delivering passenger growth with a diminishing noise footprint.

"The noise footprint of the Dreamliner is 60 per cent smaller than similarly sized aircraft and it consumes 20 per cent less fuel.

"Our noise forecasts assume that next generation aircraft like the Boeing 787 and Airbus A380 will all but replace the older aircraft over the next 30 years.
