The limited-time promotion nets pointy-end passengers with a coupon code for use with XCom Global, which unlocks five days of free and unlimited internet access.
Valid for bookings created through July 20 2014, jetsetters are eligible for this freebie if the first flight on their itinerary departs on or before August 31 2014.
Although valid for customers visiting Australia, these coupon codes are only offered when starting the trip in the United States and booking via the Cathay Pacific USA website.
These codes are also restricted to revenue bookings – so if you’ve used US Airways miles to nab a cheap business or first class flight, or you're a Marco Polo Diamond member stuck in economy, you’ll need to arrange your own roaming.
Eligible travellers can request coupon codes for seven days after the booking has been made, which can be done through the ‘manage my booking’ section of the Cathay website, or from the booking confirmation email.
The offer is limited to one code per booking – not per passenger – so you’ll have to play nicely and share your Wi-Fi around if travelling with a partner or colleague.
Business and first class passengers can also save their coupon for a future trip, as inactive codes won’t expire until June 30 2015.
Along with Australia and Vancouver, roaming is also free when flying from the US to destinations across Asia and the Middle East, including China, Hong Kong, Japan, Malaysia and the United Arab Emirates, among others.
