Visitors to the upcoming Malaysian Association of Tour & Travel Agents (MATTA) Fair will be able to sample Singapore Airlines’ new-generation cabin products that will be showcased for the first time in Malaysia.
The public would have the opportunity to test out the new seats on display for the airline’s economy and business class cabins.
The improvements provide increased personal space and leg room, more comfortable seats, and wider touch-screen monitors to enjoy the next-generation KrisWorld in-flight entertainment system, among others.
In addition, the airline is contributing two return business class tickets to London (inclusive of taxes and surcharges) as the grand prize of the fair’s Buyers contest.
Singapore Airlines general manager for peninsular Malaysia Tan Wei Qi said they were proud to work with MATTA as the official airline for the event which is set to take place from March 14 to 16 at five halls in Putra World Trade Centre here.
“Visitors to our 20-booth set-up in Hall One can try out our new business and economy class products, and experience first-hand the features that we believe will set a new industry benchmark for premium air travel,” he said at a press conference here yesterday.
The products, which were installed in Singapore Airlines’ latest B777-300ER aircraft, are currently available on selected flights on the Singapore-London and Singapore-Mumbai routes, Tan said.
“They will be available on the Singapore-Tokyo route from this month-end,” he said, adding that more routes would be announced later on.
The airlines with its partners, he said, would also be offering attractive travel packages to Australia and Japan as well as special promotions to other destinations.
MATTA Fair March 2014 chairman Judy Cheah said they were pleased to have Singapore Airlines as their partner for the fair themed “It’s about quality, not quantity”.
“This MATTA fair is very special. We are happy to have a premium airline with us as the fair is all about quality. They will be offering attractive airfares and will also bring in their special aeroplane seats as part of their specially designed booths.”
Cheah, who is also the Kuala Lumpur MATTA chapter chairman, said the fair would feature 1,058 booths by nearly 400 exhibitors.
“Fair visitors have a chance to vie for attractive prizes via the Buyers’ and Visit Malaysia Year contests as well as lucky draws which will be held every hour throughout the fair.”
Prizes include a RM8,000 travel voucher to Australia (Buyers contest), RM6,000 worth of travel vouchers (Visit Malaysia Year contest) and 150 prizes worth RM150,000 for the lucky draws, which include fine dining and five-star hotel accommodation.
