THAI’s New A380 Arrives With Special Cargo

Thai Airways International (THAI) has taken delivery of its sixth and final Airbus A380, which came stocked with charitable supplies.

The delivery flight from Toulouse to Bangkok was conducted in association with the Airbus Corporate Foundation and Aviation Sans Frontières, which loaded the double-decker jet with clothing and school supplies to be distributed to underprivileged children in Thailand.

“This is the fourth goodwill flight we coordinate with the Airbus Corporate Foundation and the third with one of our A380s,” said Chokchai Panyayong, THAI’s senior executive vice president.

“We are very proud to be able to use our delivery flights to transport donations such as these goods received by Aviation Sans Frontières. The clothes and supplies will be particularly appreciated by children in rural areas in Thailand.”

The aircraft landed in Bangkok on 30 November, becoming the last of six A380s ordered by THAI. It comes fitted with 507 seats – 12 in first class, 60 in business class and 435 in economy.
