The video is centered on the artists's "Abramovic Method" of exercise, which her website says will "heighten the participants’ awareness of their physical and mental experience in the present moment."
The video begins with Gaga, wearing all-white, laying flat on a wooden floor and begins to sing "a." It then segues to the singer standing in a shallow river, wearing a jumpsuit and her eyes covered in a horn mask. After that, it's naked Gaga time, with the singer alternately walking in grass, bent over in a yoga pose and doing various things with a large crystal-looking rock. In one part of the video, Gaga and Abramovic sit with their backs facing each other.
Abramovic is perhaps best known for her 2010 performance titled "The Artist Is Present," where she spent 736 motionless hours in a chair at the Museum of Modern Art, gazing one-on-one with over 1,500 visitors.
In late July, Abramovic launched a Kickstarter campaign for her Marina Abramovic Institute. The artist is seeking help to fund the design process of a "Interdisciplinary performance and education center, home to long durational work and the Abramovic Method." Over 1,200 backers have pledged more that $233,500 of her $600,000 goal, with 17 days to go. More here.
Both artists have been keeping busy. Abramovic can be seen gazing at Jay Z in his new performance film for "Picasso Baby." Gaga is poised to release "Applause, the first single off "ARTPOP," on Aug. 19.
