ANA Boeing 747 Last Flight - Thanks Jumbo

A Boeing 747 jet belonging to All Nippon Airways Co. touched down at Haneda airport in Tokyo on Monday afternoon following its final flight — bringing to an end nearly four decades of service as part of the nation’s airlines.

The plane arrived from Naha in Okinawa Prefecture with about 500 passengers aboard.

In Japan, the Boeing 747 first entered service with Japan Airlines Corp. in 1970 and played a prime role on major routes.

ANA subsequently introduced 47 of the jumbo jets for both domestic and international flights but later decided to retire the fleet because of its low fuel efficiency compared to newer aircraft, as well as the heavy maintenance costs associated with the aging planes.

“Although it is the trend of the times, I regret seeing the retirement of jumbo jets as I really love them,” said Captain Hiroshi Fujimura, speaking at a ceremony at Naha airport before he flew the jet on its last flight.

ANA has already stopped using the 747 on international flights, while JAL retired its fleet in March 2011.

Balance

Everything has a balance. In what we feel to what life has given us. And everything now seems like a beautiful mess to me. From all the physical turmoil to the the endeavors emotional ride. And balance is one thing I always believe in. For some reasons, with everything that is happening at the moment, there will still be something good to lemme smile on.

Many asked me the same question and I just didn't know what to do with it. Maybe I didn't wanna face it. When you have too long of a good thing, it is somehow hard to just let go of it. Believe it or not, it was almost 5 months I didn't experience what I am going through now. I guess it is one of the longest period in my life since my diagnosis for me to just live like how I always wished I would without worrying it will be back to haunt me.

At the cross roads, you just can't stop wondering how or what do you wanna do. To my readers that haven't heard about this, I am being invited to my first major award show in the music industry. It is like after so many years of hard work and it is finally paying off. But now, why all I can think of is if I attend, I will be a freak show. Without any finger nails, without hair, pale skin, a lot of make ups to hide everything that stamps on my face.

It isn't that I am a shame of what I am. It is more of I didn't want others to think of what I am going through. I didn't want that kinda eyes looking upon me. And people walking up to me and tell me to fight on. I know all these are good intentions, I really do know. But I don't want because of this, people know me for it.

I feel like nothing would or ever gonna be right. What I wanna do, or where I wanna be, to the things that didn't matter. Everything seems just to affect me in the weirdest way possible. I don't understand my body, I don't understand my mind. I wanted to give the excuse of "We are human after all" but it doesn't seems like possible either. And it kinda hurts. You feel like nothing in the world means anything and you just felt... alone... or I just wanted to be...

I know that all the bad will be balance up with the good. Excessive of either will just makes things worst. Either way, I am telling myself that everything is temporary. I gave everything I have. And sometimes, I just feel there ain't anything or anyone for me to hold on to. The question now in my head is where will I do from here?!

ANA Goes Shopping: Analysis of the Order

All Nippon Airways (ANA) has selected Boeing's 777-9X (20 aircraft) over the Airbus A350-1000 to replace its 777-300ERs. This was regarded as a key contract for Boeing to win, following Japan Airlines' decision last year to order Airbus A350s for its own 777 replacement needs. Boeing likely offered ANA an extremely competitive price discount on the 777X in order to ensure that the order didn’t go to Airbus like at JAL.

ANA said the 777Xs will replace its 19 777-300ERs used on international routes, and will be delivered in fiscal 2021-27. ANA operates 54 777s, which comprise -200s, -200ERs and -300s. The airline plans to purchase 6 additional -300ERs to support international growth until the 777X deliveries begin. The -300ERs are due to arrive in fiscal 2018-19. ANA is also ordering 14 more 787-9s, which will bring its total 787 order to 80 aircraft, of which 44 will be -9s. The carrier has taken delivery of 27 of its 36 orders for the 787-8.

The 777X order as “truly interesting”, especially seeing as rival JAL opted for the A350-1000 instead. ANA simply has more need for the larger seating capacity of the 777X than JAL for several reason; . ANA is the larger carrier with a larger overall network and moreover, ANA recently won the lion’s share of international slots at Tokyo’s airport, which better facilitates the use of the larger 777X.

Furthermore, ANA has had more of a challenge controlling its costs relative to JAL, which means that competitively, it needs the CASM boost of the 777X’s larger seating capacity.

An economic comparative analysis of the A350-1000 versus the Boeing 777X for a typical mission of 5,550 nm; despite the A350-1000′s optimized airframe, the seat-capacity advantage of the 777X in ANA’s typical 3 class configuration gives the 777X a 4.4% CASM advantage over the A350-1000. If, as in ANA’s case, you can fill the extra 45 seats, the 777X will be the better tool.

Emirates Receives 46th And 47th A380s, Launches A380 To Gatwick

Emirates’ A380 fleet is rapidly approaching the 50-aircraft mark – the size of some international airlines, such as Cebu Air.

Emirates’ 46th and 47th A380 aircraft arrived in Dubai in the early hours of Friday and the two new double-deckers – coded EEU and EET – are already in active service, having completed their first flights on Emirates’ Bangkok and Melbourne routes respectively.

The airline also launched its A380 service to London Gatwick on Sunday, representing a 15 per cent capacity boost for the UK route.

Emirates, which flew its inaugural UK flight 26 years ago from Gatwick, becomes the first airline to operate the jumbo jet out of the UK airport.

In order to become A380 compliant, London Gatwick has invested £6.4 million in new facilities, including the widening of three runway rapid exit taxiways and modifications to taxiways between the runway and the stand, the airline noted.

In a bid to boost A380 services, the airline also recently released its new digital campaign featuring a light-hearted moment between Pelé and Ronaldo in the onboard lounge of an Emirates A380. Both players are now global ambassadors for Emirates.

Emirates followed up its original 90-strong order for A380s with a $23 billion order for 50 more at last November’s Dubai Airshow.

First Look At Asiana Airlines A380 Interior

First look at Asiana Airlines' first Airbus A380.  I do find their F Class is way better than QR's first class. But I do have to say that QR does have the upper hand on their J class. As for Y class, still, SQ has the upper hand. It really does give a big slap on QR on blowing their own horn stating that they are better than SQ and now, we frequent flyers are the one to actually judge. But hands down to Asiana Airlines! Good job! Check'em out!
